Bungee jumping history
For thousands years, the natives of Vanatu have launched out in the vaccum starting from wood tower 25 meters height, retained by a liana tied around the ankles. This initatory rite makes it possible to the young boys pass to adult age. Is the Gol Jump.
"Legend has it, that a young woman from Vanuatu (a small island country in the south pacific) was pursued by her furiously jealous husband. In desperation she climbed a very tall tree – but he just followed her – as she reached the top and still found him in hot pursuit, she jumped from the tree – to, what would seem certain death. When her husband saw this, he cried out in grief and jumped after her. Without her, he did not want to live. The woman, however, had cleverly cheated. Without her husband seeing it, she had quickly tied jungle vines to her ankles and, whereas her husband jumped to his death, these vines saved her."
In 1977, on the 1st of April to be exact, four members of Oxford University's Dangerous Sports Club performed the very first modern Bungee Jump. They jumped from Clifton suspension bridge, a 250 foot high structure. The four neatly dressed adventurers (as the rules of their club expected) were immediately arrested. Bungee, a British slang term for "Indian Rubber", went into a state of hibernation.
Currently, the jumps are doing in which site provided that the vacuum is below: bridge, crane, cave, montgolfier, helicopter,.. The jump in the vacuum in full safety, of the feelings out of the commun run, the most beautiful victory which you can gain over yourself, the emotion, the joy, the wellbeing and especially the desire to start again; c'est all that the "Benji" !!
